Grade: This is a grade 4 position.

The Role: You will be responsible for promoting and enchasing the use of data analytics within the organization and ensure the development and delivery of insights and models to answer business questions. You should understand, identify, and position data analytical solutions & services that are aligned with the strategic vision of Telenor’s Business.

The Team: BI and Analytics unit has four main diversified functions: Performance Management, Business Insights, and Data Science, CLM, and Contextual Marketing. You will work in close coordination with the Segment, Circles, Digital and other Business Units to help them in achieving their KPIs efficiently and to address their problems through enhanced use of insights. You will be the liaison between BI-Tech and the commercial division to implement a new platform as well as bring new solutions to help the commercial division hands-on with rich data analytics.

Your Impactful goals will include: As the head of the unit, you will use available resources and be responsible for ensuring the following company goals are met within each team:

A nine-members Performance Management team

 

    • Competition monitoring and analysis using Traffic Trends, Market Research, and other internal/external data.
    • Acquire and share a deep knowledge of the financial services, content and 3rd party apps and digital, Telecom industry (industry trends, unit economic analysis, market share, etc) and highlight key business challenges that affect competitors and Telenor comparatively
    • Develop both industry-specific and general market analysis and deliver these to stakeholders (strategy team, markets) to help them make informed growth decisions
    • Responsible for handling bi-weekly performance calls with Circle, CMO, CFO, and CCO to drive proactive performance management and share insights into performance gaps

 

A five-members Contextual Marketing team

 

    • Improve and expand Industry leading in-house built contextual marketing platform to improve customer engagement and retention
    • Deliver on personalization ambitions for the company both in terms of interactions as well as revenue using CMP
    • Find and deploy new use cases to enhance customer experience by being more relevant both in offering as well as channel preferences

 

A nine-members Business Insights and Data Science team

 

    • Maintain focus and foresight of industry dynamics and guide business pro-actively by suggesting new ways of looking at customer behaviors and linking it with GSM Business
    • Act as an independent sounding board for the organization
    • Ensure the development and delivery of insights and models to answer business questions
    • Proactively answer business questions for management and other stakeholders
    • Look out for new areas for analytics to enhance analytics scope
    • Perform an in-depth study of business processes for thorough improvement

 

An eleven-members Customer Value Management and Enablement

 

    • Provide thought leadership by identifying new/additional analytics that would support the CVM team with the achievement of its business objectives
    • Proactive Churn management from the stock base and new sales using BTL and data science models
    • Deliver company ambitions on ARPU enhancement using BTL channel and contextual marketing
    • Deliver company’s base health management KPIs in coordination with Segments and Circle team
    • Responsible for BTL communication to our customers from stakeholders including Voice & Data Segments, regulatory, Digital, Contextual marketing, S&D and business segment
    • Close coordination with other functional units e.g. Data Science Team, Business Intelligence, Segments, Technology, S&D and other commercial stakeholders

 

Essential Responsibilities/ How will your typical day look like:

 

    • Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders within the organization and develop/enhance the culture of utilizing Business Insights across the organization
    • Bring disruptive way of Analysis on how to improve the efficiency & design of the Micro segments & marketing campaigns on the basis of numbers & logic
    • Bring an alternative view to common GSM business problems which 360-degree view
    • Translate business issues into analytical requirements; prepare concise insights and present findings to Circle and Segment management and execute the plans to drive business results
    • Regular update session with all stakeholders to keep them upraised on the current progress and plans
    • Present to Senior Leadership Team when required – Circle VPs, CXOs, and Segment Heads, etc.

    • Mobilizing and enabling the team to come up with ideas for enhancements/improvements as well as innovation
    • Hack into current CLM & contextual operations & suggest innovative ideas for new processes. Automate work as much as possible
    • Work with Advanced analytics Team to manage models like behavioral segmentation, churn prediction models, social network analysis, cross-sell/up-sell models, new data sourcing to improve the quality of campaigns
    • Manage commercial divisions data and system requirements from BI-Tech as well as liaison with them to provide accurate, timely data for quality analysis
    • Liaise with the Automation team both in Customer Care and Technology division to drive analytics automation of common dashboards and pre-post analytics delivering operational efficiency

 

Your Career Path: This role will prepare and enable you for a vertical growth position within the team. In addition, it can open more avenues within the Commercial, Segments & Products, Marketing and Corporate Strategy functions, Digital Services, and Pricing teams.

What we’re looking for?
Basic Qualifications:

 

A Bachelor's or master’s degree in business administration with majors in finance, marketing, computer science, statistics, and/or relevant education.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to influence decision making by providing thoughtful recommendations
    • Sound understanding of the dynamics of the Pakistani Telecom industry
    • Imagination and creativity, desire to move things
    • Ability to manage stakeholder and be the gatekeeper for industry trends and competitor analysis
    • Comprehensive computer skills including database searching, PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheet analysis, and online research
    • Ability to articulate research questions, form hypotheses, review and synthesize existing literature
    • Ability to formulate research designs and data/measurement requirements, collect, manipulate, and integrate data sources and communicate results effectively
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization
    • Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment and ability to navigate through ambiguity and work independently

 

Work experience:

 

    • A minimum of 10+ years of work experience in Business/Data Analysis with a proven track record in similar roles
    • BI, DWH working knowledge will be an advantage
    • Prior work experience in an analytical role within the Telecommunication industry will be preferred. Other industry experience with strong people management, analytical thinking, and presentation skills may be considered
